Representative Hassan Fadlallah stressed that any negotiations related to Lebanon must start from the cessation of Israeli aggression and the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Lebanese territory, noting that Iran has informed its allies that it will not agree to any agreement before these two conditions are met. He considered that Iran supports Lebanon politically and diplomatically in regional and international negotiations, pointing out that this support constitutes an element of strength for Lebanon in confronting Israel. Fadlallah also stressed that the protection of Lebanon was achieved due to the resistance, its military capabilities, and Iranian support, criticizing the positions of some Lebanese officials who focus on the issue of arms exclusivity at a time when the south is exposed to Israeli attacks. He said: “We do not find this government except when some of them come out of it to talk about the exclusivity of weapons, knowing that our blood was bleeding during those two days in the south, and our women and children were being killed by the Israeli enemy. We did not hear a word from some of the officials and they did not bat an eyelid. Rather, what is dictated to them is repeated that they are adhering to the exclusivity of weapons, at a time when the enemy is killing our people, his weapons and his tanks on our land. These people do not have a sense of responsibility, and we are not talking about our opponents from the political forces.” We do not pay attention to these people, because their choices are clear, not from now, but since 1982, but whoever is in a position of authority must act as a person responsible for his people, not be part of those who stab his people. Now you are talking about the exclusiveness of weapons and the weapons of the resistance at the height of war, and therefore, say whatever you want, and accordingly, whoever is able to limit the weapons, let him go and do that, and we say to them one word: the resistance will remain, and you will expire in power, and our weapons will remain in our hands. Our resistance remains and continues, and all your decisions and slogans will find no place on our land.”
